What our numbers are — and aren't

Every figure ThetaRecap shows — cost basis, P&L, annualized return on collateral, discipline grades, behavioral findings — is a description of trades you already made, derived from the files you uploaded. Our insights tell you what you did; they never tell you what to do next. We do not suggest trades, tickers, strike prices, or positions, by design and as a product invariant.

Accuracy and reconciliation

ThetaRecap reconciles imported data against your broker statement and flags mismatches loudly rather than hiding them. Even so, broker export formats vary and can change without notice. You are responsible for verifying figures before relying on them, particularly for tax filing. A “verified” badge appears only on statistics derived from an API-synced account, never from a CSV import.

Trading involves risk

Trading options and other securities carries substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. Past performance — including anything summarized on a recap card — does not indicate future results. You trade at your own risk and are solely responsible for your decisions. No tax advice

ThetaRecap shows an economic cost basis alongside a tax view to help you understand your positions, but it is not tax advice and it does not compute your tax liability. Wash-sale and similar computations are flagged, not calculated, unless and until a feature explicitly states otherwise. Consult a qualified tax professional.
